What if retirement isn’t a finish line – but an opportunity to rethink what comes next?

At 71, Victoria Tomlinson is more ambitious than ever. After a career packed with reinvention – from engineering and international business to senior leadership at EY, founding an award-winning communications agency and launching Next-Up at 63 – Victoria has spent the last decade challenging conventional ideas about age, work and what comes next.

Now, she’s turned her experience into a new book, Expiry Date Never: Age is the New Superpower, co-written with AI expert Louise Ballard.

Join Victoria for an engaging and interactive session exploring why we need to rethink retirement – and what becomes possible when we stop seeing age as a limitation.

Victoria will share:

  • Her own journey: How and why she has continued to reinvent herself – and why, at 71, she feels more ambitious than ever.
  • The book: Why she wrote Expiry Date Never and the key ideas and insights she hopes readers will take away.
  • Rethinking retirement: Practical tips for creating a fulfilling and purposeful next chapter, whether you want to keep working, work differently, pursue something new or simply explore what’s possible.
  • The role of AI: How new technology could help us think differently about our futures and the possibilities available to us.

This won’t just be a talk. There’ll be opportunities to reflect on your own experiences, take part in breakout discussions, meet others and ask Victoria your questions.

Come along if you’re wondering “What’s next?” – whether retirement is on the horizon, already here, or simply something you’re beginning to think about.

You may leave with a different perspective on age, work and what your own next chapter could look like.

About Victoria Tomlinson

Victoria has had a wide-ranging career from the first female graduate trainee in an engineering company, selling banknotes internationally for (now) De la Rue and then on the London leadership team of EY at 32.

She founded an award-winning communications agency and established an office in Dubai before founding Next-Up at 63, which runs prestigious workshops for partners in professional firms to help them plan long term futures (once called retirement).

Author of Expiry Date Never: Age is the new Superpower, written with AI expert Louise Ballard, the book brings together insights from her work with individuals and organisations to challenge how we think about age, work and experience and to show what needs to change – for individuals, employers and governments across the world. It also shows how to use AI to plan our own futures.

Victoria was founder chair of WILD Digital to get more diversity into tech teams; was on the board of Northern Ballet, chaired a board for Leeds University and supports employment initiatives for ex-offenders through HMP Askham Grange
